Elli the comedian

So elli has been quite into giving cuddles and kisses to baby brother this past week. Today we were relaxing on mommys bed and she asked to give baby brother kisses. I of course quickly complied. I lifted up my shirt so she could see baby brother. She gave him a kiss, then looked down at my quite large tummy and exclaimed "cover that up!" Who knows where she learned that, but it sure made me feel quite self conscious :) she is one funny kid.

So we are expecting baby#2 at the beginning of march. We are so excited for our new addition. Friday September 19 we had our ultrasound to find out what we are having. There is no question about it. It is all boy! We were ecstatic to find out that Elli will be getting a baby brother. Everything looked good, was developing normally and was right on track. We are so blessed to have a healthy baby boy getting set to make his big appearance in march!

Daily funny

Elli's favorite food is pizza. Since we are still trying to help her gain weight we have it at least once a week. So today was pizza day at our house. So I had the pizza crust all rolled out into the pan. Since baby thinks it is funny jump on my bladder I had to run to the bathroom. While I was in there Elli climbed up onto the table. I walk out to find her face first in the pan. I'm thinking maybe she's smelling the crust or something. I say her name and when she looks up at me she has strings of raw dough all over her mouth and there is a large hole in the middle of the pan of dough. I guess when you need pizza you gotta do what you gotta do. Needless to say she didn't eat much dinner after that snack!

A new start

Posted on 10/15/2012 07:40:00 PM, under

So I am starting a new challenge this week. I am going to blog once a week just so that we can look back and remember the funny things that happen in our lives. I'm not much of a journaler. So if there is going to be anything left for our kids it's going to have to be on here:) so stay tuned for lots of new posts!

Tabernacle Organ

Posted on 2/22/2009 10:04:00 PM, under

We had a very cool experience a little while ago. Felipe was a "host" for a famous organist from Uruguay and we had the opportunity to meet with the tabernacle tabernacle organists. While we were meeting with him, we had a "sneek peek" behind the scenes look at the tabernacle organ. Yes, that is right the one that the choir sings with, that is usually lit in blue. We had a private tour of the inner working, complete with our own security guard and everything. We were basically like celebrities. It was a very cool experience. We got to see how big the organ really is, what really goes on back there and really how much work it is to maintain an organ of that magnitude. This is definatly something that we will tell our grandkids about someday. The day that we saw the tabernacle organ for REAL!!!!

Ice sculptures - Date Night

Posted on 5/31/2008 11:14:00 AM, under

Last night for our date we decided to unleash our creativity into a block of ice. We made some ice sculptures.... we might not want you to think that our art work epitomizes the artistic ideals of the century... but since some people now days call splattered paint on a canvas art, may be our work can be called art too...

Our initial goal was to carve faces.... but....

Looney Toones face by Brandi

Easter Island statue by Felipe

This is proof that many times projects can take on a direction completely foreign than the one you might have set out to do... There it is in action, the spontaneity of the receptive nature in the brain of two geniuses.

Summer Fun

Posted on 5/30/2008 09:37:00 AM, under

Not much is happening around here. We are both working a lot trying to save up money to go to school and stuff. We are both basking in the freedom of having no homework (for a few more weeks anyway....) We are watching a lot of movies and catching up o n the things that we had no time for during the semester. We are looking forward to Brandi's family coming to visit in June for a couple of weeks but other than that we don't have any definite plans, just hanging out and getting tan in the summer heat.

BREAK FROM SCHOOL

Posted on 4/28/2008 07:59:00 AM, under

Hi, we are finally done with the semester. The much needed rest is here!!! Not much of a vacation though, since Felipe is working full-time and Brandi is looking for a second part-time job.
We were called as the music chorister and organist in our ward last week. We are very excited to do it and that gives us the chance to do something together.
For the summer we don't have any specific plans. We are both taking classes in the summer term and then Fall and Winter. We will hopefully graduate in December 2009 together.

Christmas

Posted on 1/06/2008 02:06:00 PM, under

We had a great Christmas. We really enjoyed our two weeks vacation from school... It was really needed. Now we are ready to go back to school.
We spent Christmas in Kentucky, sadly with no snow. It was really cool though. We ate a lot, slept in, played and had a blast. This was Felipe's sixth Christmas away from his parents and siblings, but Brandi's family made him feel at home. He really loves them. Brandi got a new video iPod, so now we stay in bed and watch movies.... how cool! Felipe got the ultimate bumblebee from the transformers... You can transform it into a Camaro... is great!
Well, We will see how school goes this semester. Brandi is appliying to the Special Ed program so we hope she gets in. She really loves kids with dissabilities.... Maybe that's why she is crazy about Felipe. We'll see ya later...

Thanksgiving

Posted on 11/28/2007 09:01:00 AM, under

After Dinner....

Our first Christmas tree!!!!

We had several plans for this holiday. We ended up staying home and making our own dinner. We thought it would be fun, and it was. We spent most of the day doing it. That will tell you a little bit about our cooking abilities and speed... We went for ham since none of us are a fan of turkey and also we wanted to break with the tradition... We invited a friend, but she couldn't make it, so it was just us. It was very nice and we enjoyed our meal. We stuffed ourselves with all the "delicatessen" we cooked.
The day before, we putted together our Christmas tree and a few other ornaments to our apartment. It was very exciting... Now it feels like Christmas!

Mmmmm! Yummy

Up until Friday, Felipe had been successful at staying away from the system (day after Thanksgiving shopping madness) but he finally succumbed to the market (with a lot of help from Brandi) and we got up at 5AM on a holiday (sounds sinful!) to go shopping. By 9AM we were done with what we wanted, with Brandi exclaiming unceasingly: That was so exciting! Felipe saved his comments for himself. We returned half of the things we bought for either malfunctioning or just because we realized we didn't really want or need them. Now we are back in the real world, but we really enjoyed the break. We slept inn, whatched tons of movies and had lots of fun.
